Eastern Suburbs
The eastern suburbs ferry route is the home of the Supercats. Originally built to be capable of running to Manly, they were unsuitable and have since found a new home running to Watsons Bay.
Ferries are not usually faster than other public transport options or driving yourself, but this is the Eastern Suburbs, where the slow traffic on New South Head Road is a major problem. So for commuters from wharves like Rose Bay, the ferry is a much faster way to the city than catching the parallel bus.
